what was this project about?
In the beginning of 2023, a collective of student designers took the initiative to visualize unity in response to global division. The entirety of the graphic design program was invited to join this project; those who were able to join took on the role of both designer and participant in the project to work with voices across campus that were key to contributing to the process and outcome of this mural.
what is the purpose of the unity mural?
The design that came to be through the invaluable ideas and input of the affinity groups is intended to showcase how students can utilize the tools and resources they have on hand to collaborate and create a sense of unity. In a very unstable world, how can we support one another and stand together? This project is full of trial and error, learning and growing, and constant work to do better. This project does not represent a final solution, nor is it a complete piece
my experience
This was my first time working in a big project like this where I go to see how much work got into it. Even though I wasn’t part of the design I was still given the opportunity to help the day of the event. I help and even make the bottoms to have something to giveaway. Overall I enjoy this project so much the actually day was a success and people where actually engaging with the mural.
